For those of you that have been following me for awhile now, know that I’m an accountant, I play with spreadsheets all day. So I started this blog three years ago as a fun creative outlet. Which meant I had a lot to learn when it came to websites, marketing, SEO.. what’s that? It was one of the hardest things I had to learn, and I’m not even sure I truly got it down packed. When I was approached to read, review, and participate in a 30 day challenge for Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers by Russell Brunson, I thought this would be a great book to help me take the blog to the next step.

The introduction had me shook within the first few minutes and I couldn’t put it down. Brunson retold the disaster of the “Google Slap” where thousands of entrepreneurs buying ads on Google lost their businesses after they increased rates nearly 10 times overnight! Brunson warned a new slap is coming in the form of Facebook using a clever analogy for Mark Zuckerberg as Thanos from the Avengers movie. At any moment, Zuckerberg, like Thanos, could wipe out half the entrepreneurs that are advertising on Facebook. Boom, nothing could save them. Except something DID save Brunson during the “Google Slap” and the same thing will save everyone else when Thanos… I mean Zuckerberg’s storm comes. That something, was click funnels.

Honestly, I had no idea what click funnels were nor what he was talking about, but I followed the challenge everyday to learn more. It became evident that a strong understanding of my audience will help me create traffic through my funnels to help them find me. The Traffic Secrets book was hitting home, as I dissected WHO my dream customer really was.

I’m nearly done with the 30 day challenge and I’ve learned several key strategies to increase the traffic to our blog such as:

  • Honing in on your “dream” customer’s core desires
  • The significance of a Dream 100 list
  • What your Hook, Story and Offer will do for your success

I don’t want to give away all of the secrets or go into depth on how Brunson teaches you to apply these secrets in your niche. Having gone through the 30 day challenge, I believe every entrepreneur should read this book and challenge themselves through the lessons built inside. One point Brunson made that opened my eyes was most entrepreneurs biggest problem isn’t creating an amazing product or service, it’s getting their future customers to discover that they even exist. I was able to take these lessons and apply it to my situation being a blogger, which is a tricky business in itself to attract people. I know Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers by Russell Brunson will be a great tool for all entrepreneurs weather providing a product or service.
